today is my turn to the speech. First of all, I would like to say that a quick test, we hope that the good preparation, good test for all, is the only way home for a good year. My English is not high, I wish I could within the next two years to learn English well. I hope you will be able to learn English after graduation to have a good future.

It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language.
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for. Sometimes success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.
However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success? No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization of people’s hopes and ideals. Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.
Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success, cause I raise up to challenge my hope.
What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do. But I am sure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. So ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life!

Though with time going by,i can still remember what you once told should be a brave ing,you looked into my in,year out,nearly most of my memories are fading little by only this simple sentence remained,without being forgotten in my life. Again and again,i can not stop myself from thinking about ordinary,but so impressive,so moving,just like the brightest sunshine,it helps me go through the darkest night.I am such a sensitive girl in your said,my sorroful facial expression made feel so ver,there is one thing i never tell you,that is ,i am becoming a big girl gradually with your words and smiles.I never tell you about it,for i believe oneday,you can see the great changes of mine for is what i want to do in i know,that will be the best gift for you. there are many people who think that wealth is better than health. i used to think so until one day i read a story about howard hughes. he was an american billionaire who got anything he wanted. however, in the last twenty years of his life, his health began to deteriorate and he was miserable. he had the best doctors and nurses. however, he could still find no relief. i realized that health is worth all the money in the world. if you have millions of dollars but your health is poor, you will not be able to do what you want to do. so i would like to say don’t hurt yourself trying to make money. instead take care of your body and be happy with what you do have. health is more important.
which is more important, health or wealth? it is a hot topic among people. i can hardly answer this question. i didn’t realize that health is more imporant until i saw a businessman’s real life.
a successful businessman, one of my father’s friends, devoted himseff to his business. he works from morning to night every day. there is no weekends in his mind. he often says, "i must earn much money so that i can get what i want. "lately, he is ill. though he has a lot of money, he can do nothing but lie in the hospital’s bed.
so i think health is more important than wealth people can do nothing if they are always in poor health, let alone happiness. no matter we are rich or not, we can not ignore the importance of health.

Never, Never Give Up
We often hear people say, “Never give up.” These can be encouraging words and words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides, if we always give up when we fail, we will not be able to develop new skills and grow as people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives. If we never challenge ourselves, we will begin to doubt our abilities.
In short, it is important that we do not give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. Furthermore, if we give up, we have non chance of attaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is always a chance that we will succeed one day.
Everybody is good, the title of my speech today is "my dream"
Everyone have a dream, and is very good, I am no exception. I have a little dream, when I succeed at the goal, to accomplish more dreams. Beginning, I was a baby, a thought become very strong, like the children in the shaolin temple, martial arts high strength. But I think to leave my parents to far away places to practice martial arts, hard work, a little loathe to give up. During my childhood, I have a dream, I hope I have the money. Adults asked: "little girl, with money you are going to do?" "I'm going to buy bubble gum" "if you have a lot of money?" "I'm going to buy a lot of bubble gum" "if you have money to burn?" "I'll do buy bubblegum factory." Innocent childhood we, indeed, have a kind heart, happiness and happiness is a the same piece of music.
Slowly into the primary school, courses more and more deep, knowledge more and more... Will feel the pressure. Now I have a dream. I hope I don't have a lot of homework to do every day. Play a little deprived, and 40% of the day we imprisoned in the classroom, a lot of time in learning. But in the face of learning, is a kind of fuzzy knowledge. we all knew that, now the world all is suffering the financial crisis, and many factories all already went out of business the bankruptcy, this also meant could have many people to face is coming off sentry duty.
perhaps in school we regarding this realized is not very big, however we soon face the graduation, also meant must look for the work.
already some people commented: the next several year university graduate, the graduation also on meant unemployment! although i not like this believed, but i still felt we should have one kind of crisis feeling, by faces the worst possible occurrence.
therefore, also cannot again continue to waste in the university period time, that already was may not obtain extremely! therefore i hoped schoolmates, all can learn own diligently special course, in order to might find from now on most suits own work.

It is said that the custom of Spring Festival started in when people offered sacrifice to ancestors in the last month of Chinese lunar calendar. At that time, people prepared the sacrifice by doing thorough cleaning, having bathes and so on. Later, people began to worship different deities as well on that day. It is the time that almost all the farm works were done and people have free time. The sacrificing time changed according to the farming schedule and was not fixed until the Han Dynasty (202BC-220AD). The customs of worshipping deities and ancestors remains even though the ceremonies are not as grand as before. It is also the time that spring is coming, so people held all kinds of ceremonies to welcome it.
There are many legends about Spring Festival in Chinese culture. In folk culture, it is also called “guonian” (meaning “passing a year”). It is said that the “nian” (year) was a strong monster which was fierce and cruel and ate one kind of animal including human being a day. Human beings were scared about it and had to hide on the evening when the “nian” came out. Later, people found that “nian” was very scared about the red color and fireworks. So after that, people use red color and fireworks or firecrackers to drive away “nian”. As a result, the custom of using red color and setting off fireworks remains.
Preparing the New Year starts 7 days before the New Year’s Eve. According to Chinese lunar calendar, people start to clean the house on Dec. 24, butcher on Dec. 26th and so on. People have certain things to do on each day. These activities will end Jan. 15th of the lunar calendar.

I always ask myself what can I do for our great Chinese dream ? As we all know that the wiser the youths are ,the wiser the nation will be;the wealthier the youths are ,the wealthier the nation will be;the stronger the youths are ,the stronger the nation will be. Here the word wealthy means: enriching our knowledge reserve. As a new generation of science, every one here shouldering the great historical mission of making china powerful and strong. You may say that this may exaggerate our role, but I want to say you are wrong. If I am a little screw our great dream may be a multifunction and complex machine. Through this example I just want to say I am very tiny but I am indispensable .

Good afternoon ，ladies and gentlemen! I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! my topic is Opportunities and Challenges. First, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness, wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question to president Nixon, he would probably had said,”Our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.” Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction. Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights? I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?” For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 20xx Olympic Games is a tremendous gift. A Brother Like That A Brother Like That A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?"
he said. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas."
The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish . . ."
He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels. "I wish,"
the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that."
Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car?"
"Oh yes, Id love that."
After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"
Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?"
the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about."
Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give . . . "
As you slowly open your eyes， look around， notice where the light comesinto your room; listen carefully， see if there are new sounds you can recognize;feel with your body and spirit， and see if you can sense the freshness in theair. Yes， yes， yes， it’s a new day， it’s a different day， and it’s a bright day!And most importantly， it’s a new beginning for your life， a beginning where youare going to make new decisions， take new actions， make new friends， and takeyour life to a totally unprecedented(空前的) level.
In your mind’s eye， you can see clearly the things you want to have， thepaces you intend to go， the relationships you desire to develop， and thepositions you aspire(励志) to reach.
You can hear your laughter’s of joy and happiness on the day wheneverything happens as you dream. You can see the smiles on the people around youwhen the magic moment strikes. You can feel your face is getting red， your heartis beating fast， and your blood is rushing all over your body， to every singlecorner of your being!
You know all this is real as long as you are confident， passionate andcommitted!(效忠的) And you are confident， you are passionate， you arecommitted!
You will no longer fear making new sounds， showing new facial expressions，using your body in new ways， approaching new people， and asking newquestions.
You will live every single day of your life with absolute passion， and youwill show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take.
You will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of yourlife. You will never succumb(屈服，屈从) to challenges of hardships.
You will never waver(动摇) in your pursuit of excellence. After all， you arethe best， and you deserve the best!
As your coach and friend， I can assure you the door to all the best thingsin the world will open to you， but the key to that door is in your hand. Youmust do your part. You must faithfully follow the plans you make and take theactions you plan; you must never quit and you must never fear. I know you mustdo it， you can do it， you will do it， and you will succeed!
