Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.

在西元后的头三百年间，耶稣的生日是在不同的日子庆祝的。西元3世纪以前的作家们想把圣诞日定在春分日上下。直到西元3世纪中期，在罗马合法化以后，西元354年罗马主教指定儒略历12月25日为耶稣诞生日。圣诞节日期跟西元纪年的创制是密不可分的。西元纪年创制于西元5世纪，后来圣诞节这一天就按格里高利历法，即西元纪年的“公历”来确定了，而日历按着假定日期把时间分为公元前(耶稣基督诞生前)和公元后(A.D.是拉丁文缩写，意思是“有了我们主--耶稣的年代”)。后来，虽然普遍教会都接受12月25日为圣诞节，但又因各地教会使用的历书不同，具体日期不能统一，于是就把12月24日到第二年的1月6日定为圣诞节节期(Christmas Tide)，各地教会可根据当地具体情况在这段节期之内庆祝圣诞节。

For Christmas.
Though not religious countries in Europe, but we are still the feast. When I picked up my socks ready to see the gift, I suddenly heard a burst of crying softly. I had no time to put down the socks, confused dashed downstairs.
"Meowed, good cold!" A little girl was shivering in the cold. I went over and looked at her heavy the sack in his hand: "little sister, why don't you go home?" The little girl looked up slowly, clear bright eyes looked at me plaintively: "elder sister, I was out by my dad, he said that if I don't sell Christmas gift, he would not play CARDS, I can't go home... the elder sister, you buy, ok..." 过圣诞节了。
虽说不是欧洲宗教国家，可是我们依然是过节的。当我拿起袜子准备看礼物的时候，忽然听见了一阵轻轻的哭声。我来不及放下袜子，疑惑地往楼下奔去。
“呜呜呜，好冷啊!”一个小女孩在寒风中瑟瑟发抖。我走过去，看着她手中拿沉重的亚麻布袋：“小妹妹，你为什么不回家呢?”小女孩缓缓抬头，清澈明亮的眼睛哀怨地望着我：“姐姐，我被爸爸赶出来了，他说我要是不卖掉圣诞礼物，他就打不成牌，我就不能回家……姐姐，你买一点吧，好不好……”我怜惜地望着她，说：“你爸爸好狠心啊。你要回家?我给你钱，你回家吧。喏，50元钱可以吧?”她坚定地摇头：“不，不好。这样姐姐就损失了啊。我不要钱的，你挑一个礼物，再给我。”
我望着这个倔强的、有自尊的女孩儿，说：“好吧，那我要这个。”我选了一个最贵的，把钱递给她，她美丽纯真的笑容漾在小脸上：“嗯，谢谢姐姐!”我却又把礼物给了她：“来，收下吧。这是我送给你的圣诞礼物!”她又笑了，淡淡的、可爱的，又是像梅花那样的……
这年圣诞节，我收到的最好的礼物，就是女孩儿那像梅花那样的倔强、坚定、自尊的微笑!
